The Death of Cordelia
Fourteen years, that's an elderly lady in cat years, a long life -- and in this case a happy one.
The vet referred to her as a "kitty." Look at her. Stately, dignified, Cordelia was not a "kitty."
Definitely a member of the family, she will be missed.
She was named after King Lear's favorite daughter. Lear: "Her voice was ever soft, gentle and low." Very true.
If there is a cat heaven somewhere, she, of all felines, will have made it in.
"If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans." James Herriot

So sorry for your loss. She was beautiful and regal.
Thanks, P T; your comment was much appreciated.
I'm sorry about your feles regia (I think that's appropriate...stately and dignified and beautiful). She certainly looks like quite the proper lady and friendly confidant.
Poor Cordelia. I'm am sorry for you. You'll have to think about getting another kitty. But never one so elegant.
I'm so sorry to hear this. People without pets cannot understand how they become one of the family, but they do. I know how you are feeling. I still remember my sorrow when my first bichon Toto died.
To French Fancy, Dedene and the iNDefatigable mjenks: Thanks so much for your visit and your comments.
She is a beauty!
And I believe we will one day reunite with our friends who wear fur.
Keep sending her love!
I am very sorry for your loss. She is most regal!

I am so sorry for your loss. Cordelia was, and will always be, beautiful.
Stacie and Janie, your comments are much appreciated.
Goddess, your comments are always welcome -- thanks.
So very sad to hear of your dear Cordelia.
(Hey, are you trying to tell me you think I'm strange?) ;^)
Willow, thanks for your visit.

"Stranger Than Paradise," as Jim Jarmusch put it. :-)
Did she leave offspring as lovely looking?
Mme DeF: No.
What a beautiful cat! Such a lovely post...it's so nice to "meet" you! :)
And to meet you, Andrea. I hope to stay in touch.
